Ashdown has been established since 1978 and since 1989 the home has been run by Dave and Cathy Rogers the resident proprietors.

The home has been registered by The Commission for Social Care and Inspection and has been accredited to provide a residential and day care service to male and female clients aged 25 and over whom have Learning Disabilities and offers the highest possible care.

Ashdown is located on the North Eastern side of Teignmouth approximately half a mile from the town centre and sea front, the home is located on the local bus route and is close to the railway station.

From the home and surrounding area there are beautiful views across the bay towards Torbay and Exmouth.

Torquay which is called the English Riviera, Dawlish, the small hamlet of Shaldon and the market town of Newton Abbot are all nearby. The coastline around the area is steep in mystery of pirates and smuggling.
