IT'S BIRTHDAY TIME

April was a time for 3 birthday's, firstly there was Tony on the 3rd who enjoyed fun and games, then there was Dena who had a great day out with her family on the 5th and then on her return she also enjoyed fun and games, finally on the 17th Eric had a quite peaceful time. All had a special cakes made by Georgina the cook, our pictures show all 3 of them enjoying themselves at one time or another

 CELEBRATION

As there we 3 birthdays during the month Stuart the entertainer called in to get everyone up and dancing, well nearly everyone. After starting with a few of the old favourites he started with the summer time tunes that we all love to join in with. Our pictures show everyone getting into the rhythm.

TEIGN AREA TRIP

The old Gateway club has been re-named as the Teign Area Club yet the trips are as pleasing as before, this time it was to a Zoo on the edges of Dartmoor called Dartmoor Zoological Park at Sparkwell there escorted by Katarina the group of Edwina, Dena, Tony, Beth and Kathy explored the zoo watching the animals being fed then it was in to the education centre where the highlight was everyone holding snakes and cockroaches. Our pictures show the group at the Zoo posing for the pictures or holding the cockroaches.

         COMMITTEE

We have long thought of setting up a residents committee so they can discuss relevant items that have happened or will happen in the home, we tried to hold nominations for the post of chairperson and secretary a few months ago and unfortunately people did not grasp the idea as they voted for people who were not able to undertake the roles so after more explanations another round of nominations took place and thus Dena is the chairperson and Edwina the secretary.

WAS IT SPRING

On a fine Sunday in early April we all woke up to snow showers and it settling on the ground, everyone enjoyed watching the snow fall and as our picture shows Katarina enjoyed standing out in it, she said "its like being home"
