WHAT 21 AGAIN

It was a busy month for birthday firstly Edwina managed to fit it in around her busy lifestyle, she is always on the go and at one point we did not think she was going to make an appearance for her own tea but she took one look at the cake and she decided to stay

   THE BIG 40

It was a special day on the xx as it was Kathy's birthday and as she had reached the big 40 she enjoyed herself dancing and singing most of the day and if we had a £1 for every time "Happy Birthday was sung would be very rich and afford to fill our car tanks with fuel.

WHAT ALL FOR ME

And what's this another birthday, yes it was Beth's on the 27th, nothing special but then to Beth all birthdays are special as she knows there will be a cake at tea time but unfortunately she has to share it.

CONGRATULATIONS

As the weather during the latter part of July and the early part of August was up to British standards of rain, rain and more rain some of the staff got down to some of the distance courses and as the list below shows they were very busy and on a lighter note one of our staff who is on holiday decided to take a couple of courses with her in case she needs something to do, there commitment for you. Well done everyone for passing.

VISIT SOON

Further to the last reports about the parcels to Kabul to help the people out there the manager was informed that Captain Winchester was back from her deployment for a 2 week period of rest and relaxation and would be at an address in Gloucestershire and if the manager could attend it would be nice to see him so on a very murky Saturday morning he drove their, the traffic was appalling and what with the rain it was not a nice day. He found Captain or Lizzie as she is called and she thanked him for the parcels sent not only from the home but the residents as well. The letters from the residents had been put on the notice board in their head quarters and was seen by the major who has command for the district and he was very impressed, she also said she had written to the residents personally thanking them for their kind gifts. Lizzie also said her deployment was due to end during October at which point she would visit everyone at the home. Parcels are still needed so get a shoe box and fill it with things, weigh it, wrap it up and make sure it weighs under 2kg, address it with the address given below, take it to the post office, it's free postage. Come on let us make the last 2 months of Captain Winchester deployment the best yet with plenty of parcels.

FLY PAST

As in previous years the Dawlish Caravel week went with a bang, well a loud engine sound anyway when a break in the cloud and rain meant the Red Arrows could do there fly past, as usual everyone was in the garden looking skyward and there they were the world famous Arrows, it felt you could just reach out and touch them.

MYSTERY DRIVE

The homes mystery drives are famous not only are they confusing to the residents but also to the staff, in the past we have gone past the home 3 times before heading further afield but now they seem to end up in the same place, the Ice cream van at Labrador Bay. Never mind we all enjoy a 99.
