 NEWS

  ISSUE 11

We have re-designed our web site taking out a few things and also adding a few new ones in , we hope this site is easier to use.
One of our readers has raised the interesting point of back issues do we archive them or just erase them, well the editor has investigated and discovered they are erased, well that was before the new web site were you will find any issues from number 10 has now been saved and will only be deleted after 1 year. And while we are on the subject of the newsletter it seems strange seeing just news so how about a few suggestions about a name for the newsletter before the next issue.

HAIL HAIL IT'S BIRTHDAY TIME

It was 3 Birthdays this month first Edwina then Kathy and finally Beth, a great time was had by one and all, a B-B-Q to celebrate Edwina's and thankfully a fine day and then at the end of the month a 2 day party time for Beth's big day. Beth wanted to start early so the celebratory hat came out the day before.

IT'S PARTY TIME

Beth playing games in the garden being watched by everyone, everyone took it in turns to throw the balls at the staff with some shots finding there mark. Then it was disco time with some of the songs being played several times, we did think it was tempting fate singing about the umbrella so many times.

AT LAST

The BBQ went down well and everyone enjoyed the sunshine for a change as it was an impromptu one the selection was not great but the smell of cooking over a hot coals filled the air and wafted around, one of our friendly neighbours was having some work done on her house and as our picture showed they joined in as well.

DON'T DISAPPEAR

As reported in last months meet the staff Pip thought long and hard about the pole dancing and for a start she thought BIN dancing would be a new idea, seriously with all the work and parties some times we have excess rubbish and it needs to be squashed so volunteers are asked for and Pip to the rescue.

ARROW WATCHING

Mid way through the month the Red Arrows display team visited Dawlish Caravel and on an overcast day people stood in the garden looking for the tell tale trails of Red, White and Blue smoke. One staff member even climbed higher to get a better look.

NEIGHBOURLY VISIT

On an overcast day this month well there were several, Monty the pussy cat  from next door came to visit and spent time visiting each resident allowing a few strokes before moving on.

Midge the dog came to stay for a couple of days and soon made himself at home running around the place so everyone could tickle his tummy, sadly he returned home but did say he would return to see all his friends woof woof.

MEET THE STAFF

In our next article of meet the staff we come to our youngest member of staff but worth her wait in gold, yes it's Rehanna our helper in the kitchen. Always on the go and with such a pleasant manor for someone so young we have watched her blossom. She is currently in her second year of GCSE and apart from her hobby of retail therapy she is an avid gymnast and has won several medals and awards. As for her future well she has the world at her feet.
