MANAGEMENT The Proprietors Dave and Cathy have over 35 years experience each working with this client group, they started of working for the National Health Service in 1972 and since 1989 they have been running Ashdown.
Dave is the Manager of the home and is able to call on his vast range of knowledge as a Domestic Services Officer, he has attended several courses which include Cleaning Science, Pest Control Management, First Line Management, Leadership, Staff Training and Interviewing. Since 1989 he has passed the Registered Managers Award, NVQ Level 4 In Care, D32 / D33 Assessor and has a Diploma in Performance Coaching (Business) and Certificate in Business Management. He has also passed courses on Mental Capacity Act, Basic Food Hygiene, Basic First Aid, Manual Handling, Health and Safety, Care with Medicine, Infection Control, Safety Compliance to name just a few.
Cathy who is a Registered Nurse for the Mentally Handicapped is the home's Care Manager who's last post was with the National Health Service as a Ward Sister, attending several courses which include First Line Management, Time Management, Art of Examining, Death and Bereavement, and E N B 941 Care of the Elderly. Since 1989 she has passed the D32 / D33 Assessor also attended courses on Basic Food Hygiene, Basic First Aid, Manual Handling. Health and Safety, Infection Control, Care with Medicine and Mental Capacity Act to name just a few.
