MANAGEMENT
The Proprietors Dave and Cathy have over 35 years experience each working with this client group, they started of working for the National Health Service in 1972 and since 1989 they have been running Ashdown.

Dave is the Manager of the home and is able to call on his vast range of knowledge as a Domestic Services Officer, he has attended several courses which include Cleaning Science, Pest Control Management, First Line Management, Leadership, Staff Training and Interviewing.
Since 1989 he has attended courses on Basic Food Hygiene, Basic First Aid, Manual Handling, Health and Safety, Care with Medicine, Infection Control, Safety Compliance, Registered Managers Award, NVQ Level 4 In Care, D32 / D33 Assessor and has a Diploma in Performance Coaching (Business) and is currently undertaking a certificate in Business Management.

Cathy who is a Registered Nurse for the Mentally Handicapped is the home's Care Manager who's last post was with the National Health Service as a Ward Sister, attending several courses which include First Line Management, Time Management, Art of Examining, Death and Bereavement, and E N B 941 Care of the Elderly.
Since 1989 she has attended courses on Basic Food Hygiene, Basic First Aid, Manual Handling. Health and Safety, Infection Control, Care with Medicine and is a D32 / D33 Assessor.
STAFF

The Support Staff are specially chosen to provide a high quality of care over a 24-hour period, All new staff attend an induction / in house training program and attend other course when the need arises, these include Food Hygiene, First Aid, Basic Health and Safety, Care with Medicines, Infection Control and Manual Handling while some are working towards their NVQ Level 2 In Care or Level 3

The team currently consists of and is lead by Jude our Senior Support Worker who holds a NVQ 3 In Care and has several years of experience working within the care industry. Support Staff from a wide range of upbringing and cultures, they bring youth and exuberance as well as the mature approach, the craft work sessions are a joy to behold as is there movement and exercise sessions. While the mystery trips in the homes mini bus are as much a mystery for the staff as is for the residents. Our Cook enjoys nothing better than serving up a healthy nutritional meal, her scones are legendry and insists that birthday cakes should be made and not brought. |
