        BLACKPOOL HOLIDAY

After the eager anticipation of the holiday drawing nearer and nearer it was finally the day and everyone was up with the larks, a few were a bit droopy eyed but ready for the trip. After getting to the coach stop the transport arrived very soon after and off the trippers went singing a happy song, well having a sleep at first. After several stops at service stations the Blackpool Tower came in to view they arrived at the Hotel Metro and everyone booked in to their rooms, then it was find the important things like the bar, the dining room,  toilets and games room but not necessarily in that order. On Tuesday it was off to Fleetwood and the market where everyone browsed around the stalls, Wednesday to the Lake District and while some took the chance off a cruise on one of the lakes the others enjoyed strolling among the rustic colours of falling leafs by the waters edge and then Thursday to Manchester and the Trafford Centre where some were looking for a sight of Rooney, Ronaldo and Co.

The evening entertainment was a bit late for some but for others they rocked until late with Rudolph and the reindeers. The staff at the hotel and Majestic tours were extremely helpful and all the other trippers enjoyed watching our small group enjoy themselves or even joining in. Everyone agreed that the trip to the lakes was most enjoyable with the peaceful surroundings you were able to look at the waters and reflect. The 2 staff who escorted were Pip and Jude and no matter how late they were up or how early in the morning they were up they made sure that Tony, Dena, Beth and Edwina enjoyed themselves.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROTHER

Courtenay had a surprise visitor on his birthday when his sister turned up for a visit.

SHE DID A RUNNER

Well Cathy also had a birthday towards the end of the month but made sure she was very scarce the whole day

AN EARLY ONE

As you can see John's birthday is not for a few days but his wife surprised him with a few day away having a tinsel and turkey trip to the Isle of Wight so our celebrations had to be brought forward, so unknown to John we laid on curry and rice.

READY WILLING AND ABLE

Well only 2 months to go before Jude does her parachute which has been set for the weekend of the 12 and 13th January, the sponsorship is very slow, yes it's Christmas and presents to be brought but if Jude is willing to do the jump then how about a bit of support. We have had a couple of people e-mail with a donation but we could do with a bit more, well a lot more.

E-mail me on manager@ashdowncarehome.co.uk and I will see your name is added on to the form.
